SUMMARY:
Aim:. The aim of this article is to highlight the importance of senior volunteering as a form of productive and active aging. The analysis examined the importance of volunteer work by older people for their quality of life and social integration.
Methods: The article uses the method of content analysis of scientific literature, strategic documents, and statistical data. Both domestic and international sources were taken into account. This approach allowed for the identification of the main trends and practices in the field of senior volunteering.
Results: Senior volunteering plays an important role in activating older people, strengthening their social engagement and integration with the local community and the intergenerational environment. At the same time, it is an important tool supporting the implementation of active and healthy aging policies.
Conclusion: Volunteering by older people should be treated as an important social resource that brings real value to the life of local communities and civil society. This requires adequate institutional support and measures to promote the active participation of seniors in public life, as well as in-depth research on the effectiveness and sustainability of their volunteer engagement.
Originality: The originality of this article lies in presenting senior volunteering as a specific form of productive aging, analyzed from a social perspective. The text emphasizes the role of seniors as active participants in social life and a resource that strengthens social capital and intergenerational integration, and may serve as a starting point for comparative research and the implementation of senior policies.

STRESZCZENIE:
Cel: Celem artykułu jest ukazanie znaczenia wolontariatu senioralnego jako formy produktywnego i aktywnego starzenia. Analizie poddano znaczenie aktywności wolontariackiej osób starszych dla jakości ich życia oraz integracji społecznej.
Metody: W artykule zastosowano metodę analizy treści literatury naukowej, dokumentów strategicznych oraz danych statystycznych. Uwzględniono zarówno źródła krajowe, jak i międzynarodowe. Podejście to pozwoliło na zidentyfikowanie głównych tendencji i praktyk w obszarze wolontariatu senioralnego.
Wyniki: Wolontariat senioralny odgrywa istotną rolę w aktywizacji osób starszych, wzmacniając ich zaangażowanie społeczne i integrację z lokalną wspólnotą, jak i środowiskiem międzypokoleniowym. Jednocześnie stanowi ważne narzędzie wspierające realizację polityk aktywnego i zdrowego starzenia się.
Zakończenie: Wolontariat osób starszych należy traktować jako istotny zasób społeczny, który wnosi realną wartość do życia wspólnot lokalnych i społeczeństwa obywatelskiego. Wymaga to odpowiedniego wsparcia instytucjonalnego oraz działań promujących aktywny udział seniorów w życiu publicznym, a także pogłębionych badań nad skutecznością i trwałością ich zaangażowania wolontariackiego.
Oryginalność: Oryginalność artykułu polega na ukazaniu wolontariatu senioralnego jako konkretnej formy produktywnego starzenia się, analizowanej z perspektywy społecznej. Tekst podkreśla rolę seniorów jako aktywnych uczestników życia społecznego oraz zasób wzmacniający kapitał społeczny i integrację międzypokoleniową i może stanowić punkt wyjścia do badań porównawczych i wdrażania polityk senioralnych.
